Those Who Wander gets elementary and middle school aged kids off screens and outside. We facilitate safe, active, supervised opportunities for semi-structured group play, allowing children the freedom to explore, discover, learn, and create. Limiting predetermined rules or guidelines has been shown to foster cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development. All activities share a goal to grow “soft skills” such as empathy, adaptability, and communication; specific activities address these skills directly.

Those Who Wander credits our name to JRR Tolkien who wrote in The Fellowship of the Ring, “not all those who wander are lost.” As we “wander,” we experience learning.

Recognizing the importance of social interaction when it’s harder than ever to facilitate, we value safety first! Those Who Wander also values:
- friendship
- kindness
- respect
- exercise
- play
- fresh air
- nature
- curiosity

While working to:
- build confidence
- improve social and communication skills
- better emotional health
- embrace diversity
- learn about the outdoor world around us
- live healthy lifestyles
